IOBCWA relies on science to better understand the environment around us. The organization works closely with scientists from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, the University of Texas at Arlington, and others.

Join our Stream Team
We are so excited about our NEW "Stream Team" water monitoring program. IOBCWA has been offered an opportunity to help protect what we love so much living here in Ingleside on the Bay!
We would love for you to join our IOBCWA Stream Team!. If you are interested in joining us, please reach out by email to [email protected] They will help get you registered and send the prerequisite information. Learn more about the Stream Team statewide program. |

STAGES - Stakeholder Guided Environmental Science
IOBCWA was chosen to participate in TAMUCC's STAGES for their National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT). IOBCWA advised our need for data management, analysis and predictive outcomes utilizing machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) as it pertains to industrial development along the Coastal Bend including the North Shore of Corpus Christi Bay. We advised interest in long-term relationships either part-time or full-time to develop modeling of environmental and health impacts from air and water quality degradation in Corpus Christi Bay.
IOBCWA has the potential to gain access to TAMUCC's database for:

OGI - Optical Gas Imagery
IOBCWA has engaged EarthWorks to conduct Optical Gas Imagery studies of numerous petrochemical facilities located in the Texas Coastal Bend. OGI shows what the naked eye can't see in terms of air emissions. The first round of OGI videos was conducted in December 2021. A second round of videos was completed in September 2022. A complaint report was submitted by EarthWorks to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on 3/1/22 which led to the launch of 31 individual complaints. We have submitted several Public Information Requests (PIRs) to obtain copies of all of the resulting TCEQ investigation reports. These are trickling in, so please check back for updates! We have also been asking to have a meeting with TCEQ officials in the Corpus Christi office, but this has not happened yet This page contains links to the various videos, as well as the TCEQ reports we have been able to obtain so far.
