Notices

A lot of activity is happening around us, and it's hard for any one person to keep up with all of it. We are asking the community to check the links below from time to time to help monitor events that may impact us. Email links we should consider adding to this page.

Currently Open for Comments...

Issued 1/27/21: MODA Air Pollution Permit. "The facility will emit the following contaminants: carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxides, organic compounds, particulate matter including particulate matter with diameters of 10 microns or less and 2.5 microns or less and sulfur dioxide." Since this directly impacts IOB, we are requesting that all concerned citizens submit comments to request a Contested Case Hearing to www14.tceq.texas.gov/epic/eComment/ for AIR QUALITY PERMIT NUMBER 122362.

ASAP: La Quinta Channel desalination plant by City of Corpus Christi (submit comments opposing Permit #WQ0005290000 here). The CAPE (Coastal Alliance to Protect Our Environment) website contains detailed info about desalination plants. Include in your comments. We especially need commercial fishermen and shrimpers to comment against this!
  1. Your Name, Age ranges in household, Occupation (if relevant)
  2. How you use La Quinta Channel/Ingleside Cove (fishing guide, eat fish caught, recreation like swimming, kayaking, etc.)
  3. Your concerns about desalination (on fish, wildlife, health, business, plant cost, etc.)
  4. The statement: "I request a Contested Case Hearing" (also, mention if you are an IOBCWA member)
